My cat's pupils are uneven after head trauma. Does he need a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 5 lbs

Hello! My cat had recently injured his head and now his pupils are uneven. I’m not sure if I should take him to the vet or just let it go away on it’s own. There was no bleeding to his head and he doesn’t meow in pain when I touch where he had injured his head.

Head trauma is always a medical emergency. What you're describing is a sign of trauma to the brain and it is very important that Oreo be evaluated by a veterinarian ASAP. Head trauma can have negative complications including seizures.
