Is this a broken dog tooth I found near his toys? He's acting normal.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd | Male | neutered | 5 years and 1 month old | 65 lbs

I found this on the ground by my dog’s toys and was wondering if this could be a piece of broken tooth? He ate dinner fine and has been acting normal and wanting to play, but he did eat a few hours ago.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It does not look like a broken tooth. However, checking Max's mouth for any fractured or missing teeth would be recommended. Missing or fractured premolar or molar tooth should be obvious when you inspect his mouth.
