What's this pink spot on my cat's nose if it doesn't bother her?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | European Shorthair | Female | spayed | 10 months and 30 days old | 9.3 lbs

Hi, What is this pink spot? My indoor orange tabby cat has it for a few days. It doesn't seem to bother or hurt her in any way (I gently touched it to check). She behaves as usual. No changes in eating or any other habits. Doesn't touch her nose more than usual. No other spots anywhere else. The pink spot didn't change since it appeared. No scabs, discharge or anything. It's just there. [She chased a bee recently, not sure if the same day. Sniffs&rubs her nose on stuff sometimes as cats do.]

Thanks for reaching out! That area does not appear abnormal. It may be that she scuffed a small amount of hair off or had a scab that fell off. The skin looks very normal and healthy. I would just monitor it for changes in color, itchiness, or if it begins to progress and notify your veterinarian if so.

I'm so sorry Angel has this spot on her nose. It certainly could be just a scrape that hasn't healed yet, but I agree that the area in the center is of concern. There is a condition that cats can get that looks like this that will require veterinarian attention. I have attached a link below to destribe it. Cuterebriasis is uncomfortable, so I would recommend having Angel evaluated by your veterinarian this week to make sure this is not a concern. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=2388 Please let me know if that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
