My kitten got nail polish on her mouth, then licked it. Is she okay?

Hi! My kitten (7mos) jumped on my lap as I was painting my nails and she ran RIGHT into the nail polish and got some on her mouth. I immediately ran after her and grabbed her and wiped it off. She did some licking. I got all of it off her mouth with water and a little bit of pet-friendly soap. Will she be okay?

Hello. It sounds like you did a great job cleaning Frances off. Small ingestions like this are rarely harmful or dangerous, so I would not be worried. Just watch for any gastrointestinal upsets like vomiting, diarrhea or a loss of appetite. I really do not expect you to see anything, but it is good to be watchful. If she stays well over the next day or so, she will continue to do just fine. Any concerns, please contact your veterinarian. Thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
