Is my cat's painful tooth resorption, and does it need removal?

Hello, does this tooth on the picture have resorption? i was told my cat is in pain because of it. please let me know if the tooth has to come out?

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Yes, one of the roots of that premolar tooth shows advanced absorption. It is advisable to extract that tooth as it may produce pain, discomfort or be a source of infection for Yaz.
