My pit mix has small bumps on the left side of his head, underneath his mouth, and a couple along his body. The bumps on the side of his face have scabbed over while the bumps on top of his head are under the skin. His name us Waz and he’s lethargic and not his usual energetic self. What could be causing this?

Hi and thanks for your request. These scabs seems to be due either to a bacterial infection or possibly even to a viral one (pox virus) with secondary bacterial contamination. In this case a quick check up at your local veterinarian is essential to determine the underlying cause and treat specifically the problem. Your veterinarian may want to take some samples from the skin. Antibiotics will be required.
