My 5-month-old cat is vomiting pink and less playful. Vet closed.

Question

my male cat (5 months old) threw up his food today and then vomitted three more times. The last vomit had a hint of pink in it. He has been eating and playing well up until today but now he's less playful. I want to contact our vet but it's off work hours. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 10 days old | 6 lbs

Hi, and thanks for your question. As a first approach, I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken (white fish) and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitely recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.
