My dog has dark, pudding-like, bloody diarrhea with mucus. What to do?

Hello, my dog started going diarrhea last night. It was pudding like and dark. I noticed today that his stool contained some mucus and a few drops of blood near the end. He seems fine otherwise and still has a good appetite. What should my next step be?

As long as he is otherwise well I would restrict jim to a bland diet such as boiled chicken and brown rice and add some pumpkin to restore normal bowel movement. Probiotics are also very helpful (natural yogurt if you can't source fortifora). Any lethargy, vomiting or reduced appetite would indicate the need for a vet check.
