My dog had a puppy, now lethargic with brown discharge. Emergency?

She was pregnant had 1 puppy that died and unsure if there are other puppies left she seems to be eating and drinking but lethargic at times seen a brown discharge from vagina tonight. Seems like she could be depressed. I'm unsure what to do if I need to seek emergency vet. Pet's info: Dog | American Bully | Female | 1 year old | 78 lbs

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Nala definitely needs to be seen by vet as she still may have more puppies or retained placenta inside. Please, get in touch with your emergency vets tonight or your local vets in the morning as the latest and get her checked over. Nala will likely require an ultrasound scan of the abdomen and possibly a blood test to find out what is going on.
