My rat had pups young. Is it wrong? What's the right breeding age?

Hi My female rat is born 8. Marts this Year and has giving born to pups 27 maj this Year. I as owner gets threatened and banned to hell from other rat owner people because the mom was to Young . Is it really so bad and Wrong What I have been putting the female rat through? Is their any evidens about anything ? Kind regards Maria

Hi there, Those babies are very cute. In the future, I would recommend breeding your female rats at 4-5 months of age when they are a bit older and have matured more to better carry the pregnancy. Good planning can also prevent accidental incestuous breeding. Rodents are prolific breeders and everyone makes mistakes. I wouldn't feel too badly, just learn from it and move forward.
