Pet's info: Reptile | Gecko | Female | unspayed | 3 years old | 0.1 lbs
My 2 leopard geckos sadly passed away this year due to adenovirus. I want to sell one of the vivarium and keep the other to house a new gecko in the near future. I need to do that as safely as possible. Right now it’s been 2 weeks where I clean my vivas, the hides, throw out wood and rock as well as my room. I use virucidal disinfectant (Ethanol) most times, vinegar and I’m planning to use bleach in the next few days as well. When can I consider that my vivariums safe from this virus ?

I am so sorry about your leopard geckos. You are definitely on the right track toward prepping your vivarium safely. It sounds like you have already cleaned everything so it just needs a final sterilization. For your tank, and anything else nonporous, use a bleach solution (1 cup bleach per gallon of water) and let sit for at least 10 minutes. Then, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Heat and UV will also kill it, so letting it dry in the sun is ideal. Any wood can be baked in the oven at 285deg for 1 hour. You can then consider it safe.
