Why is my cat not eating, lethargic, with low temp and lung issues?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 3 years and 11 months old

My cat hasn't been eating or drinking for a few days now. The vet took an x-ray and it looks like she has a bubble in her intestinal tract. Lung inflammation has been found too. Her temperature is very low (97.7 F). The vet doesn't have a diagnosis yet. What could it be? She's an indoor cat and doesn't have access to cleaning products or medicines.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Unfortunately, It is very hard to say what is going on with Yuki. Anorexia and lethargy are not specific symptoms for one particular disease. In fact, these signs can be caused by several problems, like infection, liver, kidney, pancreas diseases, heart and lung problems, pain and more. Low temperature is probably a sign of being generally unwell. Yuki should have a full blood test done followed by ultrasound scan of the abdomen to make the diagnosis. I don't think in this situation definite diagnosis can be made by taking x-rays only.
