Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | neutered | 9 months and 13 days old | 26 lbs
Hello, My 8 month old french bulldog got a neuter and upper airway surgery done at the same time last month. The "orchiectomy" is listed on the bill as being $1,416. Is this a reasonable price? That is just the cost of the neuter. The upper airway surgery was another $1,600+ charge.

Prices can vary greatly by location and clinic. Additionally, there may have been extenuating circumstances, risks or complications that may have added to the cost. If a board certified veterinary surgeon performed the procedure(s), that could also add to the total cost. It does seem higher than the average neuter surgery though. What you can do is contact several local clinics and ask about prices then average it out. If necessary, discuss the bill with the veterinarian or office manager.
