I think my cat has a partial rectal prolapse. She just got rid of worms as of this week. I got her three weeks ago, and since then every once in awhile her anus will either open up, or a pink like tissue protrudes out. She seems to get vocal when this happens, and it comes and goes. Could this be a rectal prolapse? I've never heard of the tissue coming out of the anus and then going back in.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It sounds like a partial prolapse, anal gland problem or rectal mass (less likely due to young age). Please, take Ushi to your local vets for an appointment. Mild, partial rectal prolapse is usually treated with medications to soften up stools, while more severe cases need surgical treatment. Fully clinical examination should suffice to make the definite diagnosis and recommend the best treatment for Ushi.
