My dog has a hard white lump on her paw pad. Should I be concerned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | BullBoxer | Female | 3 years and 9 months old | 50 lbs

Just wondering if this is any cause for concern.. Frankie has had this hard white lump on her back paw pad for sometime. Kind of looks like a whitehead pimple, but obviously doesn't pop. Any cause for concern? It doesn't seem to bother her.

Hi, and thanks for your question. Although a better picture of it would help to give you a more specific answer (it is completely out of focus so very hard to see) this lump/bump/growth should be ideally examined by your local vet to have a diagnosis established. Your vet may want to perform an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy to sample the bump and determine its underlying nature. Differentials would include skin cysts, infections, benign or more malignant type of tumors (very unlikely at this age).
