Vet took xray and found my cat to have lung hyperinflatted...I am nervous, is that permanent and not reversable?

I can definitely understand your concerns about Lio! Hyperinflation of the lungs means that one (or more) lung lobes are over-filled with air. This can happen for several reasons that cause some air trapping. Some of these include asthma, bronchitis, trapped mucus from allergies, abscesses, granulomas, or even cancer. When the underlying cause of the overinflation is treated, the overinflation typically resolves, but some of the conditions I'd mentioned do require long-term or even life-long treatment. Lio's vet will be able to guide you as to whether further diagnostic tests and/or medication are needed at this point. I hope that everything goes well for him!
