My neutered puppy has red spots on his testicles. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Cattle Dog | Male | 4 months and 21 days old | 11 lbs

My 4 month year old puppy has already been neutered since he was 9 weeks old and i was playing with him just now and noticed there red brownish spots on his testicles. I was wondering if hes ok or if I need to bring him in immediately to a vet. Im worried its some underlying disease but he hasnt shown any signs of pains or issues.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Riki. He appears to have small crusts or scabby lesions. This can sometimes represent a superficial skin infection. I recommend bathing him with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as an oatmeal or fatty acid based formula for puppies. Make sure that he is not licking the area. Place an E-collar on him if necessary. If this does not resolve the issue or the lesions spread, then he will need to see his veterinarian. I hope this information helps!
