My dog has clear white sticky discharge after UTI. Is it normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Maltipoo | Female | spayed | 18 years and 3 months old | 11 lbs

My dog recently finished an antibiotic treatment for a UTI About a week or two ago. However, today, when I was changing her diaper, I noticed a bit of clear white and sticky discharge coming out of her vulva. I hadn’t noticed until today when I was wiping her off with her doggy wipes, I saw it coming out. I’m not sure what it could mean.

I would let your vet know if this is a new or sudden symptom. In some cases, some vaginal discharge can be normal (and may be concentrated if Brandy is wearing a diaper), however since she has a history of UTIs it is best to rule anything out such as continuing bladder or vaginal issues if this symptom is new. Signs of something more serious (such as a new infection) may cause the discharge to turn yellow, cloudy, or green.
