Growing, painless lump on my very old dog's leg. What should I do?

my 18 year old jack russell has got a lump on his leg it started size of may be a tick ,,but i dont think it was ,,it as now grown to the size of a golf ball ,, it dont give him any pain at all but it just seems to get bigger ,, he is a old blind deaf dog but eats well and can walk a fair distance for his age , and to be honest we go to bed on a night not knowing if he will be with us in the morning , plus if he goes i want him to go by my side if u know what i mean ,thanks neal

Hello. I am so sorry for your concerns about Mac. At his wonderful age, I do not know if I could recommend ever doing anything about the lump. Surgery is certainly much riskier, & even recovery would be difficult on him. If the lump does not seem to be painful, cause him any difficulties in movement, not bleeding or ulcerating, then I would just love him every single day. Most likely, the lump will not cause his end.
