My dog has cataracts. Will surgery always cure their eye condition?

Hi! Is it always possible to cure cataract (not sure if that's the correct word, but it's an eye disease for dogs) with surgery? Also, I've attached an image of my dog's paw. It's a bit damaged and I was hoping you could possibly identify what could've caused the damage. She's limping it a bit so I'm worried. My previous questions weren't answered (or at least I don't think so), but I couldn't find them in my questions... Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 55 lbs
