My dog has a red spot on his eye lens after being outside. What now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Brussels Griffon | Male | 9 years and 9 months old | 13 lbs

My dog just now appeared with a red area in the corner of his eye on the lens. I just brought him in from being outside that is when I saw it. It is not bothering his it seems at all but I am very worried about it. It seems to be on the lens? It is hard to catch it as it moves around when he moves his eye. It does seem to be localized however.

Ouch, yeah that looks like something happened to the lens or cornea. I'd bring Max into a vet ASAP to have the eye looked at and to get started on treatment for any tears or injuries. Until you can get in, keeping an Elizabethan (cone) collar on him to keep him from rubbing at it and keeping the surrounding eye clean and dry can help.
