My dog has diarrhea after Thanksgiving food. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | neutered | 3 years and 6 months old | 21 lbs

My dog celebrated thanksgiving with us as a family. He had lots of turkey some potatoes and got a hold of some corn. Since last night he has had diarrhea all over the house. I am not sure how to stop it. Last time this happened we stuck with a bland diet but I’m not sure how long to wait before I start that. He has had diarrhea 4 times today since last night. What should I do

Poor Diesel. Sounds like all that found did not agree with him. You need to start the bland diet now. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. I usually recommend skipping one meal to really rest the GI tract, then feed small amounts of something bland such as boiled chicken and rice with no spices or fat. If this does not seem to improve the diarrhea in a few days or if you notice any blood then I would encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. My dog is pooping normally but then has slight diarrhea at the end and stays squating for a really long time. He isn't scooting forward or anything though. Should this be a concern?
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I don't think you need to be super concerned with Diesel. I recommend starting him on a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger mixed with rice. Feed him 3 1/2 cups per day until 2 normal stools. You can also start a probiotic. I like Purina Fortiflora. If the diarrhea persists, worsens, you see blood or he starts vomiting get him looked at by your Vet. Dog was chewing on a cooked beef bone. Looks like he chewed some up and it crumbled. He had hard dry poop this morning now diarrhea.

Poor Tony! The diarrhea could be due to many conditions including eating something he shouldn’t have, bacterial over growth, parasites or even organ disease. If the diarrhea has continued beyond 24 hours, I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian. With continued diarrhea, there are often bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check him for parasites and bacterial over growth. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. A good diet in general is Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible. A sudden change in diet including switching brands can be enough to cause diarrhea in a dog. I can give you a home remedy to try for Chiquitin, and I would switch back to his normal brand of dog food.
