How can I safely wean my dog off prednisone and methocarbamol?

My dog is taking 5mg of prednisone every 12 hours. She has back issues but is much better but the Vet didn’t give weaning instructions and went out of town. Can you give me weaning instructions please? She is also taking methocarbamol so I’d like to get her off of that if you have guidance I’d appreciate it. Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Female | spayed | 17 lbs

STeroids should be decreased gradually. After about 5 days of this treatment with 12 hours dose, you can decrease it to 5 every 24hours with food for 5 days then 5 mg every other day for other 5 times (10days) and then 2.5 mg every other day for 5 times. At the end of this you can stop it. I would recommend to stop methocarbamol gradually but after another check up at your local vet, so they can give you precise instructions on how to do it.
