My dog's spay incision has crunchy glue. Is it healing properly?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 1 year old | 71 lbs

My female lab who is 1 got spayed on Friday and it is now Sunday and I am worried about if the incision is healing properly. She is wearing a t shirt and blow up donut. The crunchy stuff all around the wound is the glue they used. Is it something I should be worried about?

Her incision looks okay to me for a recent spay. Continue to restrict her activity, leash walks to go potty only, crated or quiet inside, keep her from licking, and monitor her for any signs of illness, seepage from the wound, increasing redness, swelling, and/or heat at the incision site. If you see any of these get her back to see your vet right away.
