Why is my dog's paw itching so badly and bleeding? What to do?

I am concerned about my dogs paw. Why is he itching it so bad and what should I do? I recently gave him a bath thinking the anti itchy shampoo would work, but it didn’t and this has gotten a LOT WORSE! It’s hard to see in the picture but he almost has it bleeding. Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 11 months and 18 days old | 52 lbs

Since this has been going on for some time, I recommend getting him in to your vet for an exam. Without being seen by your vet, there is no way to know why your dog is so itchy, it could be allergies, fleas, bacterial or fungal skin infection, or more and the treatment is different depending on what the underlying cause is. Your vet can help you get to the cause of the problem so that can be treated rather than just treating the symptoms.
