Hi and thanks for your request. This may be still due to partial gastrointestinal upset, meaning that the gastrointestinal system is still recovering. I would recommend to continue to feed Milo with this diet until feces are not back to normal colour and consistency. If the signs last more than a week time a check up at your local vet will be required.

Zoe's stool is still not normal. It looks fairly soft and not well formed. The color and the mucus likely indicate a shift in the bacteria in the gut and inflammation in the intestines. I agree to not change the diet yet. You may try a probiotic to see if this helps. I recommend Forti Flora. The other thing I recommend is to have Zoe examined by the veterinarian. When the diarrhea has continued beyond 24 hours, there are often bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check her for parasites and bacterial over growth. When it is time to switch the food, gradually transition it over 5-7 days. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

No, the color and consistency are likely due to the bland diet. Once he transitions to his regular diet, his stool should take on a firmer, darker appearance. If the stool does not firm up, try adding 1 teaspoon of plain, canned pumpkin (NOT pie filling) per 10lbs body weight into his meals once daily. The additional fiber may help restore regularity.

Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Betsy has only been on the medications for 2 days, so I think you just need to give things a bit more time to resolve. You say she is absolutely fine otherwise, so do not worry. Diarrhea never killed anyone who was otherwise still eating & drinking. If the diarrhea is still present come Monday, that would be the time to revisit with your vet & think either about some more diagnostic tests, or a change of antibiotics. Take care.
