My dogs ate a full bottle of melatonin gummies. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 3 years old | 42 lbs

We have two dogs not sure if it was both but at least one got into a bottle of melatonin. They are both around 40 lbs. The gummies were 5mg each not sure how many they ate it was almost a full bottle of 90 and there are about 25 left. I did not see xylitol on the ingredients.

Generally melatonin is very safe in dogs, with the main symptoms of overdose including lethargy and stomach upset. Given that they are bigger dogs and the melatonin did not have xylitol (good on you for checking and letting me know!!), they should likely be ok. I'd just keep an eye on them for now. I hope this helps!
