My Shih Tzu is vomiting, won't eat, and sick. Should I go to the vet?

My 2yr old shih tzu is not feeling well. No appetite, vomited 3x this morning.. pls help me, what do I do? I boiled some chicken and offered him milk. Still he wont eat

Poor Takumi. If you tried offering him chicken and he won't eat, that tells me he is quite sick and cannot be treated at home. He needs to see a vet immediately to get this diagnosed and treated. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. It sounds as Momori is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Skye. She is so cute! She sounds pretty sick, and I'm concerned she isn't eating or drinking, having diarrhea, and has now vomited. If she isn't fully vaccinated, parvo could be causing her symptoms. She is too sick to be treated at home, please take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

My dog, shih tzu, has thrown up at least 7 times in the last 30-40 mins. It is white-yellow color. I don’t know what is wrong?
There could be a couple of things causing Prince to vomit including GI illness, parasites, eating something rotten, a foreign body, and pancreatitis. Vomiting seven times in 30-40 minutes is quite a lot, and this requires an immediate vet visit. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. So I have a 7 year old shih tzu named shawndee and she doesnt eat much and keeps vomiting yellow bile. She also vomits after drinking water sometimes. I cant get her to eat or drink water after she vomits. She eats whenever she wants to but doesnt do
It sounds as Shawndee is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Oh no, poor Bella! It could be that she is suffering from a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or could have parvovirus if she isn't fully vaccinated. Should she not be fully vaccinated, she will need to see a vet immediately as parvo would be a differential. Parvo is too often deadly, and requires intensive supportive treatment at a vet's office for her best chance of survival. Should she be fully vaccinated, then I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.

Sa sounds very sick, and unfortunately this cannot be treated at home if he's not eating and drinking, and has not peed or pooped in two days. Vets should be available for emergencies, and this counts as an emergency. Please call around to local vets to find someone to see him now.

My 3 1/2 year old Shih Tzu has had diarrhea for a few days. It’s not all liquid. I was feeding her chicken and rice, but today she won’t eat. Yesterday she had a good appetite.
Since Lacey has lost her appetite and apparently the diet of rice and chicken has not stopped the diarrhea, it is now time to take Lacey to your veterinarian for an exam and treatment. This is likely an infection or more severe condition than just a nutritional diarrhea.

Hello, I have a 5 month old shin Tzu, he hasn’t eaten all day today and has had very low energy. Also he threw up once a little bit of white foamy substance, looked like phlegm.
Try to entice him to eat by pouring low sodium chicken broth on his food and warming it in the microwave. Be sure to stir it and check for hot spots, like you would a baby's formula. You can offer the chicken broth instead of water to help keep him hydrated or give him unflavored Pedialyte. If he isn't significantly better by morning or if he gets worse, vomits more, develops diarrhea, fever or anything else abnormal, get him in to a vet right away. He may have eaten something that didn't agree with him, but I worry he may have swallowed some non-food item that could be causing an obstruction. Left untreated, an obstruction could be life-threatening.
