Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 8 days old | 7 lbs
Hi I recently brought home my 9 week old Boston Terrier. He has been gagging up water and sometimes his food undigested. His stomach sometimes convulses and he gives a little dry heave, sometimes water comes up. His poops are solid. He has been eating and drinking water. Is this something I should be concerned with?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Chance. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. If he is having abdominal contractions, this usually indicates vomiting. Regurgitation can also happen where the food passively slips up. In this case, there are not abdominal contractions and the puppy seems surprised when it happens. Finally, if a puppy has a respiratory tract infection, coughing can bring up a white foamy material or sometimes food if he gags. The veterinarian will examine him and determine which of these scenarios are occurring and how best to treat him. I hope this information helps!

It depends if it was gagging or coughing, if it was coughing it's probably kennel cough (upper respiratory infection), if it was gagging it's more likely to be a gastrointestinal issue. the vet will check her tomorrow and will let you know.
