hello my dog is a 10 year old cocker spaniel and she finished her heat three weeks ago and for the past two weeks she has been panting a lot, shaking, and drinking lots of water resulting in frequent urination. this happened her last heat cycle and went away in about two to three weeks. i'm nor sure if i should be concerned

Hi and thanks for your request. These signs may be compatible with a uterine infection, which often causes increased drinking levels. The infection can cause accumulation of pus inside the uterus which may not be visible in the initial stages of this problem. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed.
