My cat is limping and lifting her leg after a fight. Is it a sprain?

My Cat got into a fight recently, and she was fine. But she has started limping. She lets me touch her leg (as much as she usually would, she doesn't like her legs being touched), she's eating, I can't see any sores and she is jumping onto and off of things just fine. But if she is standing or sitting up, she will lift her leg (front left) off the ground and it seems like she won't use that leg for cleaning her self. Is it just a sprain? Or is it something else?

Hello. It is possible that this could be a strain, but most likely Darcy was bitten during the fight. It can take a few days for an infection to fester up so if she continues to hold the foot up, you should see your veterinarian. If an infection/abscess does develop, without antibiotics, it can open up & drain pus. I would try to have this looked evaluated at your earliest convenience. Thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
