Kitten attacked, looks banged up but acts normal. Does she need a vet?

I rescued a kitten from a group of other kittens who kept attacking her for her food. I don’t know if I should bring her to the vet she looks pretty banged up. Other then looking bad she’s acting like a normal kitten playing, running, jumping eating and drinking.

Poor Angela! Yes I would definitely take her into a vet immediately. I agree with you, she does look pretty banged up in the photos and I'm concerned about infection. Cat bites frequently become infected. Please take her into a vet now. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Koneko is very cute! I can't make out the scratch on the 2nd picture. Cat bites can be very dirty and commonly cause infections or abscesses. Koneko could have an abscess forming for could be painful after being attacked. She could also be a little traumatized. I would ask your neighbors who they use for Veterinary care. Some large animal (horse or cow) also are mixed animal Vets that also treat cats and dogs. Or I would call your local SPCA and see if they have a low cost Veterinary clinic built in. The best thing for Koneko is to have an exam done, that way we can bet her better. She also needs to start her vaccinations and be dewormed. Until she is better and had her shots I would keep her indoors. I hope this helps and I wish Koneko the best!

5 month old kitten, panic stricken after attacked by dog, no physical injury seen, vomited multiple times
How scary. I would recommend going to a vet for evaluation and x-rays even though it doesn't seem like she has injuries. Internal bleeding in the abdomen or chest is very common when small animals are attacked by larger animals. She could also be in shock and need some supportive care. If going to an emergency/24hour clinic isn't an option, keep her warm and offer food and water as soon as she'll take them, but know she may be in more danger than is immediately obvious and sadly internal injuries can results in fairly sudden death.

Poor Bubblu! It's very concerning that she was bleeding from the nose and mouth and seemed unresponsive at first - so I would be worried that she may have some serious internal injuries, even if she seems okay right now. I'm afraid there is no way that you can determine this at home, so she really does need to see a vet right away. If you call your regular vet's office, their voicemail or answering service should have information about where the nearest emergency clinic is, or contact information for an on-call veterinarian who can see your kitten tonight.

My cat got bit should I bring her to the vet now
Poor Caramel! In all honesty, it would be best to take her into a vet now, especially since I can't see her in person to say how bad is the bite. In my opinion, it's better to be safe than sorry. She needs to be checked out to make sure there is no internal damage from the bite, the wound needs to be cleaned and possibly sutured, and she will need antibiotics to prevent any infection. I would have Miss Kitty seen by a vet now. Young kittens are very fragile, and and I'm concerned that she took a hard fall and now just wants to be sleep. She needs to be checked out to be safe. 11 day old kitten with some kind of bite. Is there something I should do
The kitten should be physically examined by your veterinarian. X-rays may be needed to rule out a fracture. If it is a bite, it is likely infected, given the amount of swelling, which would require antibiotics and pain management.

Poor Indigo! While it is hard to tell for certain from a photo, this does look like it could be a deep enough cut to use sutures. I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian as soon as you can, preferably when your vet opens next if they are not open now. In the meantime, if she will allow you to clean it with mild soapy water you can do this, and apply a thick layer of an antibiotic ointment or a lubricant like ky jelly or vaseline to keep the wound moist/from drying out. If you have an e-collar to put on her this can be helpful if she is licking the area. If she seems very painful then you can take her to an emergency vet to have it looked at. My rabbit has been attacked by a cat and he has been skinned and he has to bites on his leg it looks painful but my bunny is acting normal breathing normal eating and drinking I applied hydrogen peroxide to clean it but i don't know what to do
You need to take Nibbles into a vet immediately. He could have suffering internal injuries from this attack, and cat bites frequently become infected. Bunnies are very stoic and will hide their pain very well because they are prey animals. Even though he's acting normally, he likely will be hurting from this attack and he needs veterinary attention now. Do not put any more hydrogen peroxide on his wounds as it actually damages the tissues and interferes with wound healing. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Yes. I would recommend to take her to the vet. The doctor will likely put her on antibiotics to try to clean up the infection. You also need to make sure that she is not licking at the area as this can make it worse. She should wear an Elizabethan collar at all times and be kept indoors completely until the wound is completely healed. Poor kitten! I agree with you that this is concerning - in a tiny newborn kitten like this, a minor wound can cause internal injuries easily because they are so small and fragile. In addition, I would worry about this wound becoming infected and causing additional problems because of this. I would recommend taking the kitten to a veterinarian right away for an exam. Your vet can palpate the abdomen and may also take x-rays or do other testing if needed to determine if there are any serious problems. He/she can also prescribe an antibiotic to prevent infection of the wound.
