How can I safely socialize my 8-16 week puppy and avoid Parvo?

How can you keep an 8-16 week puppy safe AND socialize him at he same time without risk of Parvo?

This is a very vulnerable stage in a puppies life and until fully vaccinated they should be kept isolated from sources of infection such as dogs of unknown vaccine status and public areas such as parks etc. Limited interactions with dogs that are fully and regularly vaccinated (and in controlled, indoor environments) is of lower risk - but not zero. These dogs should not have shown any symptoms of any disease in the previous 10-14days as parvo is not the only infectious disease that puppies are susceptible to.
