My dog ate a Tylenol cold tablet but seems fine. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 2 years and 5 months old | 30 lbs

Sometime in the last 3 hours, he ate a cold tablet. 325 mg Tylenol 10 mg Dextromethorphan 200 mg Guafenesin 5 mg Phenylephrine HCL Dog is eating, drinking, peeing, playing fine. He looks fine, no swelling, gums are normal. He seems fine. Should I be worried? I know it’s pointless to induce vomiting since I don’t know when he ate it. Thank you.

The concern here is the Tylenol, which is toxic to dogs. Yes, it is pointless to induce vomiting now, it's too late. Tylenol does cause irreversible liver damage, so I think it's best to get DiNozzo checked out by a vet immediately to be safe. Please take him into a vet now. Best of luck.
