My elderly cat has a facial growth. Is she too old for surgery?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed

Hi. The short version is I have a slightly less than feral rescue cat that's 11 to 18 years old, she's had a slow growing tumor or on her face &I'm not sure what to do for her. It is oval to round (spherical), but probably a little flat on the side attached to her face. It is rubbery feeling, not itchy or sensitive to touch. She does not act like a sick cat, it does not seem to bother her. Her hearing and eyesite I think are bad from age, but maybe this is doing it. Too old for surgery?

That's a good size growth on Mowe's face. No, she may not be too old for surgery. There are plenty of cats who are older who successfully have surgery. She does need to see a vet to discuss having this removed, and the vet can do a physical exam, geriatric blood panel, and urinalysis to assess her anesthetic risk for surgery. Those tests will let you know if it's ok or not to proceed with surgery. Give her vet a call now to make her an appointment. I hope this helps!
