Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Poodle | Male | unneutered | 10 months and 10 days old | 10 lbs

my 8 weeks old puppy had a surgery crypthoid, two weeks ago, we don't put the special collar, scar was fine, during the day I watch him all the time, couple of days ago, the scar itself became pinkish reddish, although I put ointment with alloe vera from the vet on the scar and the stitches are gone. It is not red around it, there is no fluid it is absolutely dry closed after ointment it becomes better. A week ago it was seen by the vet, I called vet she said it is fine, I am worried

Hi, it could be a bit of reaction to the inner stitches. It takes them a little longer to dissolve. I would recommend to have the wound checked over just to make sure that everything it’s fine but it shouldn’t be anything concerning. Hope this helps !

Unfortunately there are no pictures attached to your post, so I can't see what the incision looks like at the moment. If his vet says it's going to be fine, then I would trust his vet. It's good the area is clean, dry, and closed. I'd be worried if there were signs of infection, or if the incision was open. I hope this helps.
