I'm glad you are taking Loki into the vet in the morning! Yes, cover it tonight with a bandage to protect it. Put a cone on him to keep him from licking the area. If you don't have one already, I will put a link below on how to make one at home. I hope this helps! https://www.rover.com/blog/how-to-make-a-diy-cone-of-shame-for-a-comfier-happier-dog/

I would definitely buy a cone collar to prevent her from licking. It will only get worse if she comtinues to lick it. The air will allow it to dry out and hopefully heal quicker if you can keep her from licking it. I would clean it with some Mild soap and water. If it isn't improving or worsens then I would take her to your vet for an exam. Your vet will be able to provide oral antibiotics and itch medicines like steroids if needed to help it heal. I hope this helps

Ouch, poor Sam! Thanks for providing pictures of his wound. Yes, I would say this would require a stitch or two to close up so it can heal properly and keep it from getting infected. If you could get him to a vet now to have it sutured, that would best, but if you can't take him into the vet first thing in the morning. Until then, keep it clean and dry, and put an Ecollar on Sam to keep him from licking at it. I will put a link below on how to make one at home. I hope this helps :-) http://dogsaholic.com/care/homemade-dog-cone.html
