Is my puppy's hernia surgery wound healing right after scab fell off?

My puppy just had an hernia removed. It has been 9 days since his surgery and a scab seemed to fall off. The issue is the tissue underneath doesn't look right and we are not sure what to do. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 7 months and 22 days old | 36 lbs

Although not fully healed, the deeper layers look to be sealed and the skin should join over the next week or so. Monitor very closely for excessive licking, discharge or smell which would require a physical recheck with your vet to assess for infection
