My dog holds her leg up and cries when I touch her paw. Is it broken?

MY DOG LEG WAS CAUGHT IN HER CAGE EALRIE YESTERDAY AND LAST NIGHT SHE FELL OUT THE BED WHICH IS REALLY HIGH AND SHE HAS HER LEG UP IN THE AIR WHEN I TOUCH HER LEG IT DOES NOT BOTHER HER BUT WHEN I TOUCH HER PAW SHE CRY

Clearly Tink is in pain if she holds her leg up in the air and she cries when you touch her paw. She is a little dog and if she feel from a high bed, I'm concerned she could have broken her leg. The only way to rule out a broken leg is with an x-ray from the vet. In addition, she needs pain medication which you cannot give her OTC. Many human pain medications are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. The best thing to do for her is take her into a vet immediately to get this examined and treated. Please do that now. Poor Sweet Pea! If she is holding her rear leg up, it means that it is painful and yes she should see a vet for it. She could have broken her leg, or torn or strained a ligament. She likely needs pain medications, and you cannot give her any human ones because many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. The vet can prescribe her pain medications that are safe to give. Poor Lola! She may have sprained it or she could have a fracture. You should restrict her activity until you can get her to a vet. Your vet can take an x-ray to make sure she doesn't have a fracture and then determine the best way to treat. If the x-ray is normal than your vet can prescribe an anti-inflammatory/pain medications to help relieve the discomfort. If she has a fracture than she may need a splint. Hope she feels better soon!

How do you know if you pet has a broken leg. The reason I asked that is that my 3 month old pup, when she walk on her left paw she always making noises and I don’t know what to do.
It's not likely to be broken if she is using that leg but if she seems to be in pain when using the leg you should take her to the vet in order to get it checked, the vet will do a physical exam and will usually be able to tell you right away if he suspects a fracture or not.

My large dog stepped on my smaller dog this morning, and she’s been holding her paw up all day whereas she would normally sit it down. The only time she squealed was when I gently squeezed the lower part of her back leg, right before her paw starts.
Poor Callie! It sounds like she was injured when your larger dog stepped on her, and she's in pain if she is holding her paw up all day. I would avoid touching it for now since she clearly doesn't like it. I recommend resting her for the next 48 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Take her out to toilet on a lead only, and bring her right back in when she's done. If she still appears painful after this time, then I would take her into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. She may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. My dog was running around my house in circles yesterday when she suddenly yelped and started limping. It's been a day, and she hasn't moved more than two times from her bed. When she has gotten up, she hasn't yelped but she is still holding her leg
She may have torn her cruciate ligament, have a problem with her knee cap, have a fracture, etc. Since she seems to be in pain, you should take her to your vet today for an orthopedic examination. Your vet can take an x-ray, if needed, to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. An anti-inflammatory and pain medications can be prescribed to help relieve any pain. My pup got hurt on her rear leg. She’s limping and is in pain when I touch her leg. I can’t tell whether she has a broken bone.
Poor Nymeria! She is adorable! Limping and crying when touched can definitely be an indication of a fracture (broken bone). I recommend having Nymeria seen by a vet right away, as this can be extremely painful. They can localize the trauma with an x-ray and stabilize the leg with a bandage, cast, or surgery if necessary. There are 24 hour emergency clinics in most towns/cities. I hope all is well!

Poor Paris! I agree that she should be examined by the veterinarian. They will palpate her leg to determine where the source of pain is coming from. They will palpate her for any broken bones. They may recommend a radiograph if a fracture, bone tumor or infection is suspected. They can also provide her pain medication to make her more comfortable. I hope she starts feeling better quickly.

If she won't put weight on it, it's inflamed, and she has pain to the touch, then I would take her into a vet immediately. You are correct that she may have a broken bone in her paw, and she will need x-rays to confirm it. She will also need pain medication. IT is quite likely if it is causing her to fall over it may be broken or dislocated. Please arrange an emergency appointment for her and prevent her from walking/falling until you can have her fully assessed to prevent further injury. Keep her fasting from food as a mild sedation may be required for xrays
