My poodle has a discolored growth she bites. What should I do?

Hi, I have a minituare poodle who lately I noticed has a mole like growth on her front leg. She often bites at it and licks it. There is some discoloration to it but I have also read it is common for poodle to have moles. I was just wondering your opinion on what it may be or what I should do. Thank you!

From the picture, it does look like a benign growth such as a mole, but my concern here is that it's clearly bothering Bella. For some reason, it's really annoying her. I also can't rule out it being more serious without seeing her in person. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. Give her vet a call to make her an appointment. Best of luck.
