My cats ate Lysine chews, vomiting and thirsty. Should I call the vet?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 10 lbs

My two cats ate the entire bag(100 chews) of Lysine Plus which contains mainly Lysine and DMG while i was sleeping. one of them has vomited. and they are both very thirsty. Should I take them to vet??? What should I do???

Hello. With one acute overdose of Lysine & DMG, you are most likely going to deal with the GI signs for a bit, & this will be mostly vomiting & diarrhea. The half life of Lysine is pretty quick, so it should be out of their bodies in a day or so. If the vomiting persists, you may need to take them in to your vet for anti-nausea medication & perhaps some fluids, so just monitor how they act over the next few hours. If they settle down, then they will be fine. If the vomiting remains persistent, then you should seek veterinary care. This is not the first time I have seen this with cats.
