My 6-month kitten lost teeth from collar. Are they adult teeth?

My kitten who is approximately 6 months old who has just lost two teeth (premolars) from trying to take off his collar. There was some blood, and I’m concerned that he might have ripped out adult teeth.

Typically the baby premolars will fall out between 16-20 weeks of age, so it could be possible that Chid has pulled out his adult teeth, but from the picture, these do not look like adult teeth. I suspect that his premolars are later coming out, and that's what he pulled out. I would have him seen by a vet just to be safe, and show the vet the teeth. I hope this helps!

You can typically age kittens by weight. They should gain about 1 pound per month. They start losing teeth around 12 weeks of age and permanent teeth should be fully in place by 6 to 9 months. I hope this helps and thank you for using Boop by Petco!

Hi, what you are seeing is his adult teeth coming in and his baby teeth haven't fallen out yet. this does not cause pain and is not a medical issue unless he gets to be over 1.5 years and they have not fallen out. The retained baby teeth can get food stuck in them and cause dental disease. I would not worry about it until his is older. Good luck, I hope this helps!

That appears to be a deciduous (baby) tooth. You can see the adult tooth near it and next to the other canine on the right side. If she will allow and you can do it safely, wipe the tooth with a piece of gauze. It should come away. Have her examined by your veterinarian tomorrow. She may need a dental x-ray to rule out retained roots.kittens will begin to lose teeth between 3-4 months of age. By 7 months, the adult teeth should be fully erupted.

I am sorry to hear about your concerns!!! It sounds like your kitten is of the age when it is getting its final adult teeth (usually 6-7 months) so it is possible your kitty is just losing her baby teeth. When kittens are teething sometimes they do have a bad breath/odor while they are teething. When the teeth fall out we can have some bleeding at the gums as well. If the bleeding was prolonged, your kitty is having trouble eating or is lethargic or pawing at her mouth, I would recommend an exam by the vet to look at the oral cavity to ensure there aren't any signs of infection, a foreign body stuck in the gums, or ulceration. Hi is thing normal for almost 11 months old cat to grow new teeth? In the internet they say that when a cat is 12 to 24 week They should have fully grown teeth, plz help.
By six months of age they should have all their adult teeth. I am unable to tell what you are referring to in the photo as when I enlarge it, it is very grainy. That premolar tooth you have circled is typically smaller than the others. It could be normal or it could be a baby tooth that never came out but honestly, in over 30 years in this industry, I have never seen that in a cat. Even if it is a baby tooth it will not cause him any harm. If you are very worried you should have your vet check it in person. I would not be concerned about it.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Yes, puppies and kittens have baby teeth just like people. They usually are done shedding their baby teeth by 3-4 months of age. The adults should all be fully erupted by 6 months. If Willow is losing teeth at 11 months it could be her adult teeth and I would have her looked at by your Vet to see if she has dental disease. Also sometimes the baby teeth become retained and do not shed on time. Sometimes we remove these retained baby teeth at the spay or neuter. Hello, my name is Iqra. I had rescued a male cat in October last year. He was teething at that time. He had grown molars in November. Now he is still teething as his front teeth are coming.? My question is how old he is?
Normally all of their adult teeth have grown in by the age of 6 months. So if his adult canine (the large pointy ones) have grown in then he is likely done getting all of his teeth and over 6 moths old. Unfortunately, some kittens will continue to "teeth" or be mouthy until they are well over 1 year old just because that is kitten behavior. I hope this answers your question.

When will Jasmine loose her first set of teeth??
At 4.5 months old Jasmine has already started loosing baby teeth and getting adult teeth. It starts with their tiny incisors around three and a half or 4 months, and finishes with the four canine teeth at around 6 months. Hi and thank you for using Boop by Petco! Cleo is losing her kitten teeth and getting her adult teeth in. The canine (fang) teeth come in around 4-6 months of age. Sounds like this is completely normal and has nothing do to with the food that you are feeding her. Over the next 2 months you will notice the canine teeth (kitten) will fall out and the adult teeth will replace them. Sounds like Cleo is doing good otherwise. I wish you two the best.
