My dog got Lysol in her face. She seems fine, but is it an emergency?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 12 days old | 37 lbs

My aunt accidentally spayed Lysol directly into my dog's face. She was spraying, and my pup walked right up to her and got a face full. She sneezed twice, was fine, then a little while later made funny noises like she was trying to blow her nose 6 or 7 times. Now she seems perfectly fine. I'm worried though. I don't use Lysol at home, but we're visiting my grandmother, and this happened. Should I take her to the emergency vet? She's 10 months old, about 55 pounds.

If Cora is acting perfectly normal, I would keep an eye on her for now. If her eyes become red, you see discharge from her eyes, she rubs at her eyes or face, or you notice increased sneezing, then I would take her into an ER vet immediately. Wash her face off with cool water. I hope this helps.
