Hello, if you're unsure about the ingestion of the coffee beans, if would be safest to have your veterinarian induce vomiting and monitor bb for any side effects from the chocolate or caffeine. This is most successful when induced within an hour of ingestion. Monitor for any lethargy, pacing, anxiety, rapid heart rate, weakness or collapse and have bb evaluated immediately if you note any of these. Hope this helps and best of luck.

I am sorry to hear about your concern for Sophie. I would recommend watching her closely tonight for signs of toxicity from the coffee. Hopefully she just ingested a small amount and will have no ill effects, but you want to watch for vomiting, diarrhea, hyperactivity/excitability, racing heart, tremors/muscle twitching, and seizures. If any of these occur, then take Sophie in to the vet (vomiting and diarrhea if just occurring a few times may not require emergency care, but repeated vomiting or the other symptoms listed would warrant an emergency trip visit).

I certainly wouldn't worry about inducing vomiting after just one peanut butter cup. The induction of vomiting poses more risks than the peanut butter cup does! Inducing vomiting at home with hydrogen peroxide comes with the risk of aspiration and significant irritation to the esophagus and stomach. The wrapper will pass without a problem. There isn't enough chocolate in a peanut butter cup to cause any toxicity concerns. Worst case scenario, Jack may develop an upset stomach with a bit of vomiting and diarrhea. If he does, you can offer a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for a few days before gradually transitioning back to his normal food. At his weight, that about of chocolate will cause a minimal to no reaction. Add in the two giant Reese's cups, and I would suspect you may at most see a minimal reaction. Do NOT induce vomiting, I never recommend doing it at home. Not only is there a high risk of aspiration, but hydrogen peroxide can and does cause gastritis and esophagitis often worse than the presenting problem. Given that he most likely will have a minimal reaction, I would monitor him for now. Keep in mind that it can take up to 24 hours for signs of chocolate toxicity to appear. I don't think she will from eating 2 grapes but every dog responds differently to certain toxins. Even though you gave the peroxide to induce vomiting you should still get her to the vet. The vet will administer activated charcoal which will help absorb the toxins before they get picked up by the blood stream. They can also keep her on IV fluids for 24-48 hours to help keep the kidneys flushed out. That is what I would do if this was my dog. I would recommend seeing an emergency veterinarian so they can induce vomiting with injectable medication. If you can estimate about how much chocolate was ingested it could help as well, but as little as 2 oz could cause mild symptoms of toxicity like vomiting and diarrhea. If you think he ingested it recently your best bet is to head to the vet to see if they can induce vomiting and determine whether or not Kenny did eat the chocolate.

A 50 pound dog would take 2.5 to 3 oz of dark chocolate or 6 oz of milk chocolate to be problematic.
