My senior ferret has insulinoma. What are his treatment options?

Hi I have a 7 year old hob ferret called Scratchy & I suspect he has Insulinoma, after reading afew articles on it. It is advised from this article to let your vet examine your ferret & maybe have surgery to remove the tumours associated with Insulinoma. I don't really want to put my senior ferret through surgery as I'm scared he won't pull through it & he'll die on the operating table. But at the same time, I don't want to just leave him alone as the end result will ultimately be a coma & death

I'm sorry to hear about Scratchy not feeling well. I think your best step is to have him examined by your vet in person first to confirm what the mass is, and then go from there. Your vet can help you determine if it would be OK for him to undergo surgery (via general exam, bloodwork, health history, etc), or if supportive care is a better option.
