My dog got stung by a bee on her paw. How can I treat it at home?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkipoo | Female | spayed | 11 years and 2 months old | 12.5 lbs

My 12 lb yorkie poo got stung by a bee on the bottom of her paw pad. She is lifting it and will not out weight on it. Just happened. I read to make a paste of baking soda and water to put on it. What else should I do for this?

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I would suggest applying a cold compress on the paw. You should take a few ice cubes, wrap it up in a thin towel and apply on the paw for 10-15 minutes. The swelling should go down within 30-45 minutes and Noelle should be back to normal in 2-3 hrs time
