Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 7 years old | 30 lbs

My Chihuahua Beagle, Guster, is 7 years old dog with a growth on his nose. I first noticed it two weeks ago, and it has grown slowly over that time period. His nose is wet (the growth is not), and it is white in color and the size of a piece of corn. He is not is distress either.

I see what you mean about the growth on Guster's nose. This could simply be a benign growth, but it could be malignant. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. Give his vet a call to make him an appointment. I hope this helps!
