My cat had a nightstand fall on her. What signs of injury to watch for?

Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Female | spayed | 10 lbs

My car tried to jump into an open drawer in our nightstand. Once she jumped in, the whole nightstand toppled over onto her. She seemed fine right after the incident. No loss of consciousness and no visible external wounds. Her respiratory rate has been normal. She has just been sleeping for the past couple hours. What are some things I need to watch out for in the next couple days?

Poor Charlie. Watch for limping, lethargy, and a loss of appetite. If you see any of those signs, then I would be concerned and have her seen by a vet. Based on your post, however, it does not sound like you have anything to be worried about with her. I suspect she will be ok. I hope this helps!

Hello, it sounds like Jinxx is ok from what you're describing. Signs of more severe injuries may include lameness, vocalizing, hiding, pain, decreased appetite. If Jinxx seems to be aware of everything and is acting like her normal self then she should be ok. If you note any of these signs then contact your veterinarian and have her evaluated. She may need an x-ray to rule out a fracture. Hope this helps and best of luck.

my pet hamster fall from my hand, what are the symptoms i have to be caution to ensure he is not injured ? he is running here and there after the fall though.
Hopefully he will be fine. However, limping could indicate a leg injury. Lethargy and decreased appetite could indicate internal damage/ or bleeding. Gemma was chased off a 10ft cliff at the dog park today by another dog. She landed if but cried out and was quite shaken up for a couple minutes. Worried about her developing joints etc - what should watch for/do?
I'm so sorry Gemma had that experience today. How scary for her! Since Gemma is still growing, I would watch her closely for any lameness. Growing dogs can damage their growth plates and will have long term problems if not treated. So, if there is any lameness, I would recommend having her evaluated by your veterinarian. My only other worry would be if she hurt her abdomen in the fall. If she is not eating normally, seems lethargic or doesn't want to move around normally, I would also have her evaluated by your veterinarian. I hope that answers your question.

I am 80 pounds and fell on my cat she is hiding underneath my bed but seems ok could she be hurt?
You may have just startled her by falling on her, and she is hiding because she is scared. If she starts limping, becomes lethargic, or stops eating and drinking, then she likely was hurt from the trauma, and I would take her into the vet for an exam.

My cat was running around the living room and hit her head pretty hard on coffee table. She hid for a minute but is back to playing and chasing treats. It’s been about 15-20 minutes. How long do I need to watch for symptoms and what do I look for?
Keep an eye on her mentation (is she acting normally, responding normally, she doesn't seem "depressed" or "dull"), the way she's walking (is she bumping into walls, does she have a wobbly or drunken appearing gait), and her desire and ability to eat and drink. Also keep an eye out for vomiting. If it gets to be 12-18 hours after the incident and she's showed no symptoms, you should be in the clear. I hope thats helpful! Thanks for asking Boop by Petco! My lizard just fell from a couch to the hardwood floor. What do I need to watch for?
Hello! I’m sorry Lizzie had a fall. First, look her over for any asymmetry in her face, mouth, spine and legs. Watch her breathing and ability to walk normally. She may not be too keen on being handled right away, so let her rest in her enclosure for a time and observe her undisturbed. If you’re worried about her ability to walk or balance, remove any branches or platforms. If you see any discoloration, blood, asymmetry, weakness, signs of trauma or fracture, then have her seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Otherwise, it’s fine to keep a close eye on her and just let her rest. Offer food as normal, but realize if she’s in pain she may not want to eat. Good luck!

Please!! Help!! Will my kitten Die?!? Because my father threw her hard in a Drum
I'm sorry to hear about the ordeal you and your kitten have been through. I would check your kitten over for any obvious injuries first, such as severe fractures or obvious bleeding. I would make sure that it is walking properly and does not appear to be having any issues with balance or equilibrium. If none of these seem to be a problem, going to the vet right away might not be necessary. If over the next 24 hours, you start to see any issues that may be attributable to pain or shock, have your kitten checked out by your veterinarian. Lastly, make sure that your dad has no more access to your cat since he clearly doesn't know how to handle one properly. If this means finding it a new home, it may be in its best interest.

My cat fell today from bed , she fell on her left hand she screamed when she fell and started limping but after like 2 minutes she started walking normal and playing , then i gently started touching her left hand and she didn't show any sign of disco
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Kiara! It is a good sign that she is not longer limping and isn't painful when you touch her paw. My hope is that she just strain/sprained the paw and scared herself. I would try to rest her for a day or 2 and watch for return of the limp. If she starts to limp again and it persists then I would take her to the Vet. Otherwise I think she will be fine. Do not give her any human medications as cats can not tolerate them and they are toxic. I wish you and Kiara the best!

I am sorry to hear about Ariel! If you feel she is lethargic and not moving normally then I would recommend a visit to the veterinarian as soon as possible. You also want to watch her breathing closely as we worry about bruising of the lungs in trauma and this can take some time to appear. We also want to watch and be sure she is urinating and that a ruptured bladder is not a concern. Check her over for any bruising/swelling, check her mouth for broken teeth, check her eyes to be sure the pupils are the same size, press on her belly, and along her spine and legs to check for pain. If you are noticing anything abnormal, or if she is lethargic then seeing the vet sooner rather than later would be the safest course of action.

My 9 year old cat just jumped off the railing from our upstairs loft to the downstairs floor. I'm guessing about 9-10 feet high. Taller then an average refrigerator. I'm not sure if she fell or what. She's never done this before. She doesnt appear
Well that wasn't good that Isabella jumped that height! Given that she meowed and jumped on the bed, not limping or crying in pain, I would suspect she was not injured from that jump. If she was injured, she would be limping, crying in pain, and would be lethargic. I suspect she is ok, but hopefully she doesn't do that again!
