My dog has a lump on his leg. What could it be? What should I do?

Hi, my dog he’s a jack russel and I was just playing about with him and I noticed a lump on his back left leg I was just wondering what this could be thank you

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Unfortunately, it is very hard to say what the lump is without full clinical examination. I suspect it could be a cyst, hematoma or a skin mass. Please, take Frankie to your regular vets for an appointment after the weekend. Your vet may want to do a needle aspiration of the lump (so sticking a needle into the lump) to make the final diagnosis and recommend adequate treatment.
