What is this growth between my dog's toes? Can I treat it at home?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Cocker Spaniel | Male | unneutered

I just found this growth between my cocker spaniels back toes, will you please help identify it, and suggest home treatment? Due to covid19 we are not advised to travel from home.

Hello. Your picture is blurry, but the growth resembles a wart. Doing something is only necessary if this is bothering him. There is no simple treatment if this is a wart other than surgical removal, so if Plato does not seem to be in pain & is not chewing excessively on the growth, then I would leave it alone until such times as you can show this to your veterinarian. Hello, again. Yes, I am quite sure this is a wart. So as I said before, if it is not really bothering him, just leave it alone. Warts on older dogs might suggest Plato's immune system may be a bit off, so as soon as you are able to travel to your vet, please have this evaluated for possible removal.
